Skye Tao is an emerging lens-based artist whose work explores culture and memory. Blending photographic theory with illustrative and surreal compositional elements, she creates images that gently challenge perception and invite viewers into new modes of visual storytelling.

Skye is currently pursuing an MPS in Fashion Management at Parsons School of Design and holds a BFA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2023). Alongside her artistic practice, she has worked as a brand photographer with a focus on rework and upcycling in fashion, an experience that has deepened her interest in sustainability.​
Her work has been shown on the Arbutus Greenway Billboards (2025) through the City of Vancouver’s Launch Pad program. She was selected as the winner of the “Things” category in the 2022 Booooooom Photo Awards, an Honorable Mention for the Chick Rice Award for Excellence in Photography (2023), and was shortlisted for the Booooooom x Capture Photography Festival Public Art program in both 2023 and 2024.​ Skye’s photography has appeared in publications including BROAD Magazine, Booooooom, F-Stop Magazine, Sixth Finch, and PhotoED Magazine, and has been exhibited in group shows at venues such as Access Gallery and Centre A.
