Skye Tao is an emerging Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist with a focus on photography. Her body of work often serves as a narrative exploration of culture and humanity through the lens. Tao's artistic vision is characterized by combining theories of photography and illustrative composition to create surrealistic images that challenge the viewer's perception.

Tao earned a BFA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2023). Tao has gained recognition through exhibitions and publications. She is the winner of Booooooom Photo Awards in the Things category (2022), received an honorable mention for the Chick Rice Award for Excellence in Photography (2023), and was shortlisted for the Booooooom x Capture Photography Festival Public Art in both 2023 and 2024. Her works have been showcased in group exhibitions at Centre A in 2022 and at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Tao's work has been published and featured in BROAD Magazine, Booooooom, F Stop Magazine, Sixth Finch, and PhotoED Magazine.
